If the older one has been cared for properly, I would probably go with it over a new one.

Is the old one local, where you could break it down and do a very close inspection of it?

I just need to really think about whether I can truly justify the number. That said, things can go badly with a new gun purchase also. There is a lot to be said about the quality of older firearms.

I sold my Mosin...didn't lose any money...actually made a couple bucks, but it was a small dollar deal.

I can maybe see another rifle in my future...and maybe a 1911.
