Sucker punched a bunch recently.

One of those punches was learning that I didn't get the new (to me) dream mountain bike (therapy).  Haven't found a good, used, local Duc to pick up at a relatively good price either.

Sooooo.... I told the universe to go eff itself and just booked a cycling trip in Tuscany for this fall.

Sorry to hear about the 1st two blows. :(

Way to hit back! [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Morning.   [coffee]

Passed out on my bed at 7:30 last night.  A very busy weekend for me.  Got way too much sun at Pride yesterday.  It was amazing to see the support for Buffalo's LGBTQ+ community.

Today will be a struggle to get work done.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Up before the alarm here. You know the weekend could have been better, when a Monday of work looks better  :(   [coffee] [coffee]

Hey Dive - I am not sure when Pride is here. I keep seeing shop window signs for a small, local, one in Burien. The Seattle one (for me) is way too big, takes too long, and has way too many floats from businesses.

That's been my last few weeks.

Today is not as manic of a Monday though.   Headed out to the western side of the state this afternoon for a few days so even less interface time with the boss man. [thumbsup]

And then there was the deer that got hit by the car in front of me on the highway and wasn't killed on impact but laid there thrashing.  I cried.  (After I called the road patrol people.)  Aren't they always, 100% of the time, supposed to immediately die and not suffer?

I think I'll go have a glass  [wine]  :P

Weird day.

Helped out at the club this am servicing some clay throwers. Missed the fed-Ex guy, by a half hour, on a package that needed a signature. [bang]

Loaded up for the dump, and when I got back I walked up on to the porch to the main entrance to the house, and I hear this growling. I look up and right there in front of me is a raccoon with a face full of porcupine quills. I stop, and he stands his ground growling away. In case you don't know raccoons that are healthy, are not aggressive and shy away from people. It was pretty obvious this one was rabid.

I walked around to the other door of the house and went in that door. Went and grabbed a shotgun, and a turkey load...wanted to make sure...and went to the door to the other porch. The raccoon was eating cat food right outside the door, so I opened it and hollered at him. He came towards me, so I closed the door. He then went back to eating cat food.

I figured he wasn't going to leave the porch, and I didn't want to mess up the decking with a shotgun, if the pattern opened up or I missed, so I grabbed a .22 and loaded it. I then started banging on the window trying to get him to leave the porch. He came to the door and started scratching on it trying to get in. Then he turned, and attacked a bag of charcoal that was on the porch. Tipping over and pissing all over himself, he finally turned, the other way, and climbed down off the porch.

Zeke was due home from school in a very few minutes, and I couldn't take the chance of a meeting between them, so I opened the door and dispatched the raccoon.

A call to fish and game soon had me washing the deck with a 50/50 solution of bleach and water, and removing the carcass to the woods.

I learned something today. If a rabid animal dies, the virus dies soon after...within hours. As long as there's no contact it's all good.
