If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

How do you do, fellow kids.

Indeed a good score for a lappy.

I was a bit nervous when it wouldn't boot up, and start up repair didn't work.

I'm facing a similar situation, but opposite.

My desktop's HD cratered late last year, luckily I was able to get the data rescued off it.
But I've got to get a new HD and either reload Win7 or pony up for Win10.
And I need to get a bangin video card to run some software I really need to learn.

How old is the board? Will it support modern stuff?

I despise Win 10.

Good morning [coffee]

Doing fine with Windows 10.  My guess is it is probably more problematic when it is used as an upgrade on an older machine.

Board is ~10 years old, the whole unit was a stomping gamer rig that Supafly built and very kindly gave to me when he built a better box.

But the video card is not up to the task of running Solidworks.

Win7 support ended last month, so no more updates and thus becoming more vulnerable as time passes.

I've got Win10 on my lappy, and it's OK there.

Nor worried about Win 7's 'vulnerabitlities'.

T has Win 10 on her laptop, and I consider it an abomination.

I might download a Linux distribution and see if I can get my printer to work. I have the drive that came with the new laptop. Maybe I'll run both.
