New job has pulled a bait-n-switch w/regard to the job description.  It seems much travel is in order.  Which means tomorrow I get to tell them I have 3 other employment options and they can go F themselves....

Should be entertaining...

aaarrrgghhh..... what the heck would be the benefit to them in not being clear about this?  Sheesh.
Enjoy the moment of sharing with them where you stand and the opportunities you have.

In other news..... long walk this morning with the pup (usually saved for the weekends but figured our days are numbered here and beautiful morning).   At the turnaround point, he got an effing bee sting on the front paw.  Would. NOT. Walk.  Carrying 20 lbs 2 miles (not uphill all the way but it felt like it) was a chore.  I juuuuust get in the door with that sack of potatoes and the boss calls and wants to argue about something ridiculously trivial.  I didn't back down but I'll pay for it.
Then had to hop on a conf. call that was 75% of a waste of my time.

No where to go but up from here.   [thumbsup] [bacon]

My theory is that some DGAF up the food chain with sucko travel in their job description saw that there was a new hire and immediately volunteered said new hire to assume the sucko travel duty.

Carrying a 20# doggo gets old quick, The Blonde's mini-aussie picked up a thorn and got toted home once, not 2 miles tho, dang!

When Zeke was a baby...about 3...he decided he wasn't walking any further.

He was heavy. :P

Evening Ducatters  ;D

My day has been chock full with excitement.  Mowed the lawn.  Failed to fix a lamp with a broken switch.  Put the bin out to the street.

eWindow-shopped broken motorcycles I have no use for nor space to keep.

Awfully late in the day to be making such a challenge.

I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Funny thing:

I mentioned the “I don't want to live out of a suitcase” to management staff and now my travel % is 10%/year.

So, yay!  They weren't sad about it, but I surely took them off their feet with that topic.

Sounds like my typical days, well, not including shopping for broken motorcycles.

This might be better received here versus General:

I rode to work today & was genuinely excited to go for a ride.  That's been a long long time.  I had fun!!   [Dolph]

Soooo... a good result then?   [thumbsup]

Sounds as if Speeddoggy's theory hit the nail on the head....

Morning.  [coffee]

From the jobsite....waiting around on contractor.   [roll]

Talked witb my dad and sister yesterday.  Parents are doing so well.  My mom's blood sugar crashed the other night leading in ride in the ambulance to the hospital.   My dad's bp has been so high the BP monitor they have errors out.  Planning a trip to visit at the end of the month.

Andrea found a junk yard hatch for my GTI, even the same color.  It was already installed when I got home last night.  Still chasing the phantom draw.  Disconnected the front interior lights/moonroof switch to see if that's it.

No plans for the weekend; Andrea is working.

Morning.

Yeah, Speeddog's suggestion could be the winner.  Also seems like the more valuable I make myself at work, in the office, the less I would have to travel.  I intend to make myself super valuable...

Sorry to hear about your folks DD.  Congrats on the colored hatch!!  Pulling fuses is a good way to trace which circuit has the draw.  Also, maybe some internet searches as ppl love to complain about problems online.

Morning.

Taking the big one ocean fishing today.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Tried both already.   :P  Moved on to disconnecting things off the harness.

Have fun fishing, Dave.
