Of all the strange certifications I've gotten, this one has to be the oddest. As a non-parent, after three and a half days of training, I now know how to install child safety seats:

While I wound up in that class simply because we needed someone at work with this particular piece of paper, I'm certainly not diminishing the importance of this work - the half day of training was at a drive-up "Childseat Checkup" site, and it was a bit scary to see how some of the kiddos arrived, and gratifying to know that they were better off because a parent stopped in to have us take a look and pass on a little knowledge (and a half dozen or so replacement seats).

I had one recently.  I'm good. The thing is, I could taste the food and wine and they tasted badly. 
The smoked ribs and beer and wine I had last night tasted excellent.   


Cleaned window wells on Saturday and again today.  Disgusting all the leaves, spiders, grasshoppers and mystery things.  Still work to be done on them but fewer spiders in the house should be one bonus of that nasty job.

Tempted to lower my standards to find a guy for my "honey do" list.

Some word, yes.  We got a few offers (far less than we expected).  One stands out.  Things are working/moving forward.  Nothing final.

Seems like that market is fickle at times.

As an example.  I bought a place there in '04 for $272K.  Sold it a year later for $355K.  Saw it was on the market a while back for $260K (should have repurchased it!) and is now worth $411K per Zillow.
