Evening.

How are you feeling, ung?

The premature heatwave across the states is bad here as well.  Luckily, it has been pretty windy so the grid is holding up thanks to windmills (and solar).  I've heard of rolling blackouts.  Without warning or notification, my e-thermostat shut down my A/C this afternoon. :o :o I thought I had previously opted out of that.  I have an interior townhouse unit that is 1,500sf, so my usage is fairly low.  It was starting to get a bit warm in here when I realized that.  [roll] [roll]

I'm still using Flickr for image hosting (I only upload photos I want to share here, so it's not a lot of storage). Worked last time I checked, let me give it a go...

So I'm seeing that on my end. Anyone else? I use the BBCode option in the image sharing, and just post it directly in the message (I don't use the Insert Image button), as it's already got the image tags included.

I can see it.

Was chatting with IZ via text tonight.  We were reminiscing how active the board used to be.  Changing times.

Grateful for the friendships - many virtual but some more physical - that I've made here over the years.  Friends of mine from back home, that I've known forever but see once every couple years if I'm lucky, couldn't understand why I found RAT900's posts so impactful.  Makes me think of when I broke down on my first 996SPS just east of ABQ.  Long story, but I was on the side of the road, and the only people who stopped were fellow motorcyclists - highway patrol didn't stop when they went by...

This place is a good "virtual" home.

 8)Morning all from Porto.

We got all our household belongings through customs w/o paying VAT tax, so that's it!  We're 100% moved to Portugal!

I'm exhausted and still battling a summer cold or allergies.  All is really good.  8)

Morning RM.   Each day I find new places to ache in  [laugh]

Got the bike back yesterday tho and other than the total trashing of Nates paintwork it's not that bad.   Right side fork lower is pretty scarred, which is doubly annoying coz I've had ugly axle crash bobbins on there since 2009..... took 'em off a couple of weeks ago while doing some maintenance.  They're still sitting on my work bench  [bang]  Typical innit  :D

I also rely on Flickr for my irregular image hosting.  And also get those IMG tags which I never remember how to make go away.

Glad to hear the (relatively) good news about the bike, and hope your injuries, aches & pains are mending.

Deleting the Flickr image tag is pretty easy - when you copy the BBCode stuff, you'll see two different URL destinations. The first is to the photo location, and the second generates the tag - delete the stuff after the middle "[/url]" tag and the extra bit should disappear. I usually don't bother.

Hello ...

Raining, high 80s, high humidity ... A little sun here and there for a few 'minutes' but, part of life

UNG, get well soon, aches come and go, but, you are here and that is the important part!

Randy: Tijeras?

Yes!  I had been in Cedar Crest at Coffee at Dawn (was a great gathering place, but I believe it is no longer there?) and had just gotten on I-40 to head back to my house on the west side of town.  I was stretching her legs and at about 100mph in third gear when the idler pulley on the vertical cylinder gave up the ghost.  Thankfully, I didn't freak out and was able to get it into neutral and coast to a stop about 1/4 mile from the exit.  [bang]  [bang]

Ung, those soft tissue injuries are like the gift that keeps on giving!  Hopefully they subside soon.

On yet another after hours video call with the overlords.   :-\

But I have tomorrow off and will be having lunch with a friend from back home who is in Dallas for a comic con.  He went into the Army after HS and we weren't in contact for 20+ years.  Reconnected on that book thing long ago and have happened to see each other somewhat often since as he used to travel for his work and our paths would cross. [thumbsup]

Ah yes, Coffee at Dawn.  Fond memories!  It is, unfortunately, gone now.  The motorcycle mural in the parking lot stayed for a long time after, but alas it too is also gone.

Glad you got everything sorted on the 996SPS.  Did you buy it at R&S Yamaha/Ducati?
