We just throw a some poorly placed lights on the three bushes out front.
For the past couple years we've had a fake white tree inside with purple lights on it.
Bah Hum Bug indeed.

eveNing.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, JM.

Our holiday decorations consist of a fake wreath on the door and stockings on the fire place.  We had a very small real tree last year, that I managed to kill before spring.  Don't think we will bother this year.

Homemade chili and corn bread for dinner.  Yum.  Cheese cake brownies for desert later when B gets back from school.

you are very ambitious JM  [clap]

we do a fresh cut tree in our foyer which has a cathedral ceiling.
last years tree was 14 FT! we cut it ourselves, and seek out the tallest thinest tree we can find.
mike likes colored lights and i prefer all white so we alternate years.
this year should be colored lights unless i can confuse him into thinking we did that last year  [laugh]

outside i do white lights in the creeping junipers that run along the walkway,
they usually get covered over by snow and it looks really pretty.
i also do white lights in a dwarf weeping birch tree.
i very carefully wrap all the major branches, so it accentuates the shape of the tree.

I do have an ormental Magnolia out front, that might be for some pretty decorating.  I like blue lights (not behind me of course [laugh]) and have strands of purple, red, green and white.  I think the icicle lights (900 total, blue & white) might do something out front, maybe even the tree.  Some of the lights are dual-color too.  Those went under the eve of the house for a colorful walk up to the front door.  Might add to those then.

My parent's have a 33ft celiing in the living room, so we had lots of very tall trees growing up.  Now, due to age & health they have a 9ft artificial tree that looks nice, but is still small for the room.

Thanks for mentioning what you folks do, that helps me visualize what I want and gives me fresh perspective  [thumbsup]

Evenin' dp!

My Turkey was the best!  Turkey, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, brussel sprouts with shallots, gravy, cranberry relish, and pecan pie.  About half the items for a real Thanksgiving day, but still good.

Even the dishes are all done!  My hands look like prunes.

I do not like Christmas.  Not even when I was a kid.
