Sorry I didn't have a good enough signal where I was later in the day.
In the dim light it looked pretty gray to me. The sizzling was more interesting, very bacon like.

I suppose, I rarely smoke these things. The problem here was shitty wiring outside the panel back-feeding voltage to an output on the controller. Luckily it only fried that output and there are 3 spares.
