I have a plan...

First thing I did was remove half the blades from the propeller

I'm going to simulate a leak by introducing outside air to the fan side of the exhaust filter.

I'll do that with a piece of duct and a damper.

Depending on the size of the duct I should be able to modulate from about 500-1500 cfm.

Everything else is done except for the coating which is ordered. I need to get an airless gun and hose for the pump I have. They're not cheap...neither is the coating.

The room is blindingly bright with the old coating peeled and the bad lights replaced/bulbs cleaned...I may actually be able to see. :o

That sounds like a lot accomplished.  I like the air solution, pretty simple and it seems like it would have to work.

I believe it will.

Now I just have to decide on a duct size and cut round holes. ;D

If it doesn't it means replacing the fan.

The only other upgrades will be a better floor surface and maybe some deflectors to divert air to the end walls. I noticed those two walls seem to be dead as far as airflow is concerned. It'll have to wait for another infusion of cash.

It's property tax time.

How big are the round holes?  I've got hole saws up to 6" and a trammel for the router that will cut any size you want.

Either 8 or 10"

I was gonna use a compass and a roto-zip.  :P

You're gonna eat up zip-bits, but you can easily screw something the the base of the roto to use for a trammel.  It'll actually save on bits because you'll be cutting smoother.  If you're going through plywood, barnboard, nails, make a few passes.  Piece o' cake

I have a carbide zip bit that nothing has been able to kill. It's 1/4 in.

I'll be going through FRP and wood. No nails involved.  ;)

I've got some Zip bits that are 1/4 carbide burrs.  They work well in the Roto-Zip but you can do some damage with one chucked into a 3 1/4 HP router

-big yawn-

'Ning y'all...  Enjoying some  [coffee] with two of the dogs.  Trying to wake up mentally and plan out my day.

But, since the  [coffee] hasn't fired enough nuerons up yet, I'm here....yawning & typing.

Glad to hear (the member formerly known as DP) that your paint booth re-do is going well.  Here in CA if you try to install a new booth, all manner of demons dressed in suits attacks you from gov't agencies with expensive pieces of paper and fines and fees.  Evil make the beast with two backsers.  BUT, if you re-do your existing booth...hehehe...all happens under the radar and no-one's the wiser.  (tis cheaper too, eh?)
