hell, the 9 year old tv I currently have was the 1st place prize for a local paintball tournament we won

it's just that I don't really need a new set, and that couple of hundred bucks is still money that could be used for important things

Well...you could buy a used TV to save some $$$...  Anyone you know maybe wanting to sell a TV they have?  Maybe there's a sale and it's time for them to upgrade so you can buy their old unit.
