I'm going to attempt a low impact shuffling movement to get downstairs to where the food lives.

Wish me luck.

more digging today?
Only rented the machine for the one day besides I'd have trouble getting much more out with it. My original plan to loosen it with the backhoe and drive in through the low side and scoop stuff out was stymied by the fact I kept getting stuck. The ground around here is all rocks and clay so it goes mush quick and just packs up the tires. So I ended up just using the backhoe to pull from the side and I'll finish by hand.
So I'll be driving the machine back in a bit and then have to go ti some kid's birthday party that I never met.

My wife and her daughter want to just get in and out there anyway so it will mostly be spending the day with them doing other things which is a good thing. The hole will still be there and the wall won't fall in on it's own accord any time soon.

Then have fun.

I removed the wire fence near the apple tree yesterday and did a little pruning on the tree so you can walk under it.

Last night we had a fire with some of the apple wood in the rock pile fire pit.

It's cloudy and cool today here.

I view the hole digging as only being maybe 10% down at most. Now I need to finish cleaning that hole out to get it all down to a bit deeper than the bottom of the wall. Remove that portion of roof, remove the wall while salvaging as much block as I can then build new wall and put new roof on the whole back portion of the garage 30x40.
Might take a few weekends, hopefully be done before next winter.  [laugh]

don't rush in to anything
No rush, it took over a year from when I first noticed the wall moving to get to where it is and now with the material removed from the side of it it shouldn't move any more.
One of these days I will reward the Wagoneer for it's hard work of now twice holding up that wall by making it able to move under it's own power again.
