I checked all the closed auctions on ebay and researched around and I paid a fair price for the KLR650.

$3625.

Last one on ebay with 8k miles (no mods) sold for 3500$.

Well that was unexpected....
Tearing up an old layer of floor in the kitchen, they built up a layer about 4 inches high above the the original. Got over to the other side of the kitchen near the back door and lo and behold nothing underneath but basement. Hmmm, there's a complication I didn't foresee. Not going to uncover more in that area until I have material on hand to build a good sturdy floor on top of the nothingness. Thankfully I only uncovered a tiny bit that I can screw down plywood as a small temporary ramp to cover the hole.
