I will accept the updated avatar as a compromise.  [thumbsup]

So, Mzz Decidedly-Not-Fluffy StayPuft, do you speak whale? :D

p.s. the avatar makes me smile even more cause my mantra of late has been "just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swiiiiiimmming..."

It was great meeting "The Dude" at long last.   She brought us some epic beer.

Whatever happened to big troubled bear?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

New boss is a micromanager. I understand his desire to get up to speed but this is just silly.

Conversation with him from yesterday:
Kurt: Well I was wondering if we could do X, Y and if we find Y fails then do Z.
Me: We already do X, Y and if we need to, Z. In fact, we have 2 techs dedicated to doing that.
Kurt: Well, can we do it more?

[bang]

During his introduction meeting (we are all contractors or consultants):
Kurt: I don't care about the SoWs. I am here to give the customer what they want.

Ok...the reason we have SoWs (and individual ones for each team/consultant) is to define what the customer wants in black and white. So you just said you're going to ignore what customer wants in the grand scheme of things and give the customer what they want at that particular moment. Goodbye budgets.

Seems like I can't get a competent manager anymore. The first 3 I had when I got into IT were phenomenal. The 4th one was great too but then he was replaced by a company yes man.

As a co-worker and friend stated after the intro meeting, "Looks like my immunity to make the beast with two backsititus has just drastically dropped."

Why don't you lend him the 250K he needs to start his business?

My biggest problem is the "customer" is completely satisfied with the job I am doing. In fact, they are unhappy with the other part of the group and the helpdesk that fall under my "team".

But because the customer is very unhappy with the rest of the group, the new manager thinks I need to be under the same umbrella. But his umbrella is made of shit and it just started raining.
