Can I admit that I am a bit more excited and anxious to get to the mountains for a relaxing, therapeutic girl's, bachelorette party weekend than I was to go to Hawaii for the triathlon two weeks ago?

Too many things (like the f'ing washing machine) popping up that are slowing my departure.  arrgghh.

in the universe of exertion and consumption I prefer the latter

have fun, take pictures...they can be real money-makers in a down economy

Hmmm.... you have a point.  And I have taxes to pay....

Some of the girls are quite photogenic.  And some would pay me NOT to sell pics I take of them in the morning...

I am listening to a canned presenter on our Training Website telling me how to read a company's financials...he sounds like Count Dracula sans accent

3rd of six mandatory courses on how to talk to executives....

if I can't converse or correspond with a CEO/CIO/CTO 33 years into this

I should be make the beast with two backsed with a fire hose

but we need to have all the tickets punched   >:(

meanwhile Najee is behind me emitting some seriously egregious farts adding to the captive audience torment

like a bad movie in full sensurround...called "My Life"

I don't know how you do it...

the suffering is periodic (no not like menstrual cramps...well wait...mebbe)

then I get weeks/months of latitude at full pay

it all balances out I suppose

I understand that.

It still takes way more patience than I have.

I would probably enjoy the pay raise though. ;D

I know Mike...

I've made some decent money at times...never what many would consider enough, but it was fine for me.

I always let my mouth get in the way. ;)

the money is decent, good actually I could whore myself out for more and did in the past

the real incentive is that I can work from pretty much anywhere that has a phone and a broad band connection

and I have lots of downtime between projects

at my age you are more willing to trade dollars for free time and venue choice

no amount of money buys you the days of your life back

Evening . . .

OK, I do read wise things about choosing venue . . . I'm working from home, no more ride to work  :( but, appart from working in whatever clothes or not I feel like . . .

Before, I had to go somewhere, had to dress a certain way, eventhough later I would end up smelling to diesel  >:( . . .but I liked it, didn't like the way the money was coming . . .

Today while visiting a customer, I put in a ride, a decent ride, messed up at the end by traffic jam caused by an overturned toyota 4runner whose driver had chosen not to wear seatbelt and when the vehicle due to excess speed overturned, he left the car and was hit by an oncoming car . . . Appart from that . . . my bike is great . . . except the brakes . . . [bang] [bang] [bang]

What's wrong with the brakes?
