Didn't get much sleep last night. Dermatologist removed two moles off my chest. He made about 1 1/4" incisions on both ones, meaning he wanted a big biopsy area which kind of has me a bit freaked. I won't know for 1-2 weeks after the Pathologist reads them. Anyway.....kind of sore and itch. I can shower this morning, clean, put some polysporin on which will hopefully help the itch as I am sure they have dried up by now. So I can at least get some relief by moistening the incisions frequently.

The thing that craps me up is the doctor gave me a script for 30 Hydrocodone's (5/500) and two weeks supply of Cephalex, 500mg twice a day. Ok, I can understand in our world people want no pain, so fine there. However....the antibiotics? Really? What a classic case of over-use of them. No wonder super-bugs have sprung up because doc's are writing scripts for meds when they aren't needed. This isn't even one where he would get a kick-back (if people think they still exist outside a free lunch), it is dog-shit old.

Both hit the shredder when I got home.

coffeeeee time

The real problem with antibiotics is the agricultural use.

If we didn't feed them to our food we wouldn't need to take them.

It gets very political though. :-\

I haven't taken any of that crap in years.
No thanks, I prefer to have a nice strong immune system for whenever some superbug escapes from some lab.  [laugh]

It is sad that it has come to that. People laugh when they get Ortho Surgery and have to sign their knee, shoulder, hand, etc. That's because one idiot operated on the wrong extremity, got the shit sued out of him, and now we do this. Damn litigious society.

I never really bought into that argument up and til about 4-5 years ago. It sure as hell makes a lot of sense. I am not sure it gets as political as it does scientific if one believes that or not. However, too much of one antibiotic renders it useless. Penicillin for example. Finally, the medical community has caught on and RARELY (at least in my experience) will prescribe Z-Pak anymore unless absolutely necessary. This wasn't the case several years ago. Now you get like 60 days of Amoxicillin because it is worthless. You take it for that long because as Lethe said......it goes away on its own!

today and maybe Friday

was going to yesterday but there was a mandatory safety meeting that was in fact something else entirely...probably shouldn't go into it publicly even though it would get buried here in TOSAT
Nothing bad for me though.

I have to disagree about it being scientific. Science would say to decrease the size of feed lots to avoid the use of meds.

Our agribusiness giants raise animals in unsanitary conditions and feed antibiotics so the animals don't die.

It's all about money and politics.
