We need someone in here this morning with good news...

I've still got this grossly swollen appendage stuck to the end of my leg and haven't been off my ass for 2 1/2 weeks.

My news isn't bad.

I've just been doing some soul searching about riding the track lately.

morning

stripping 4 days worth of oil-based BIN exterior primer paint off my carcass

awful stuff to work with but this stuff is the answer to old house exteriors...it is like a glue coating....locks everything in place

been working up in the eaves in the back of the house which appear to have last been painted around WW II

scraped, sanded and inhaled enough lead paint chips off the eaves and trim to lower my IQ by at least 40 points

all while up high on the 24 foot extension ladder......ducking gigantic (thumb-sized) wood-boring bees

that were being caulk-gunned and painted out of their nests in my fascia boards

next month I get to do it all over again with the finish coat  :P

no kidding!!

I think the fumes are what's keeping the Bees from biting me (they don't have stingers but they have jaws built for chewing and tunneling the bejeesus out of wood)

I went thru 2 tubes of caulk....you start pumping it into one hole and it starts pouring out of 3 others nearby preceded by bees
