i have 11 years in with this company.

i really like having 6 weeks of PTO  :-[

Although I hate them, Wells Fargo starts you with 5 weeks of PTO. Just an example but there are options out there.
Me...I took a vacation cut for this job but will be getting my PTO time back with the new job.

BTW, LAST DAY MOTHER make the beast with two backsERS!!!!!

That's how I have been here.
I work from home and the micromanager claims that there is no way I can work 8 hours from home...which I point out that my wife does it all day every day.
Then he says that he can't do it so obviously, I can't. So the next day I take a sick day (would work from home when sick) I would point out to him that I am not going to do anything and actually take 8 hours of sick time and by 9am he is calling me to work from home and claim my normal 8 hours because he was evidently wrong about the work that I offloaded from everyone else even when sick and working from home.

And he sent me an IM just a bit ago asking me about a confrontation I had with a helpdesk tech yesterday.
Said tech had put in a virus ticket that when she looked up the manual removal instructions for the virus the computer was infected with, it said it could be removed using the vendor's virus removal tool. The link was for a trial version of the vendor's AV solution...that we have installed.
I pointed this out to her and said that ultimately she was right in sending the ticket to break/fix as the computer had a MBR virus and should be wiped/rebuilt anyway but that the wording in her ticket was confusing. I asked that in the future she be a little more conscientious about how she words tickets so as there is no confusion as to the steps she took.

She felt I was being harsh towards her.
So I told the micromanager that as this was my last week and specifically my last day that aside from packing up my desk and belongings and finishing training my replacement, I didn't care enough to even warrant an explanation for what I said and how it wasn't harsh in any way.

He then invited all the team out for lunch to say bye to me.  [laugh]

God I hate this place so much.

I hear ya...

My current balances:

Vacation - 151.84
Sick - 144.00
Personal - 8.5

That will change next month on my anniversary, and I'll get 24 hours of personal and 40 hours of sick time.  Our sick time has a max of 152, so 32 hours of sick will be converted to 16 hours of vacation time.

i was similar until last november. we used to be able to carry up to twice your annual accrument but now they have changed the rules so that you can only carry over 1 week of PTO (all sick and vaca were put into 1 PTO bucket)
part of the targets was to manage time off effectively so that we don't have more than 40 hrs left over at the end of the year (calendar) and they give us a hard time about even taking that.
don't bother asking to work from home. this group doesn't do that. you can't be watched if you arent' in your desk.

As long as I keep performing and shit gets done on time, I can do pretty much whatever I want.
I've carved myself quite a nice little niche.

Morning.  Headed out of Durango over a few non-burning mountain passes - my happy place.  Will be a peaceful morning.
