0500 to Yuma?

[thumbsdown]

I thought we were friends?

I've made the trek to Yuma (from Phoenix or Tucson or Prescott) a number of times.  I don't wish that on anyone.

0500 to SLC

Winner, Winner, Church's Fried Chicken Dinner!

6:30AM flight tomorrow.

Typically, our dealers in the SLC area are a letdown for me from a training perspective.  I'm optimistic that tomorrow will be different.

I just got back from Yuma today.

I like it and the people there, refreshing change from SoCal (if this offends any to freaking bad).

FTR, good fried chicken can be found here.

Yuma isn't really a bad place, as long as you have reptilian tendencies a nd don't mind the 117* heat.

Or if you are a snowbird and enjoy playing canasta and/r gin rummy with your fellow blue hairs (blue hairs = old folks for those of you not familiar with the vernacular).

The downside to Yuma, besides being in the middle of the scorching desert, is that it is in the middle of nowhere and the drive to Yuma is miserable.

A lot of produce is grown in Yuma, so that is a good thing.

Another upside is that if you are coming from Phoenix is that you will pass through Dateland, where they have amazing Date Milkshakes.  If you are coming from San Diego, you will pass by the dunes where the original Star Wars movies were filmed (apparently, they were something of a big thing back in the day).

If you've never ridden in the Glamis dunes, please do so it's awesome. Especially Thanksgiving weekend. [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

If you're bored on the drive from SD, get off the 8.

Yup, saw it hit 105 in the shade today. Was 119 in the paint booth. :P

I get paid hourly for work, so I'm in, then out!

I've stayed away from Glamis due to all of the horror stories I've heard about the place.  That and I can't afford a badass $100K buggy - I hear that's the only way to fly there.

90% of the romaine lettuce in the US comes from Yuma.  Crazy!

I've never been in a 100k buggy but have access totem, not of interest to me. I prefer a reasonably fast quad. I've never had a horror story, great times only.

I've heard of the Red Baron having horror stories.

Not surprised.   ;)

Spent an hour this afternoon seeing if my behaviour and cultural values align with those of the prospective employer. And I thought I was there for a job interview.  ???

I'd be absolutely buggered if my behaviour and cultural values aligned with those of my employer.

First day of the second Ashes test, from Lords in London about to begin  [popcorn].

Hopefully Australia's opponents won't rise too much to the special occasion of their great leader's 95th birthday  ;)

You have values?

Evening.

Old Japanese car gearbox components falling from the sky tonight.   And blowing a gale with it too.

After a sunny, warm day during which the thermometer topped 23 of my degrees.  The warmest June day ever on record for Melbourne.

Winter scheduled to return for the weekend though.
