On the city property or the country lot?

City.

There are other vancant lots that we have for backup if we get out bid.

Then there is the city in-rem auction in October.

The country property is sort of our last resort.

We really want to build our own place.

Yes, we're crazy.   :P

It isn't easy as you probably know, and part of the fun escapes if it goes on too long. :-\

Well in our case, 70% of the house will be built in a factory and delivered to the site almost complete (modular).

I'm actually more worried about the logistics and cost of the gas/water/sewer connections.

Two architects buying a modular?

I'm surprised.

Well it's what we need to do to obtain financing.   :-\

It will be 100% designed by us and built in the factory to our specifications.

A lot of the finishes will be added by us later on-site.

In that case it makes sense.

Morning.  I can tell I was working with overhead pipes yesterday.  My shoulder muscles are reminding me how heavy galvanized pipe is.

Too much to do.  Monday I go back to school.

Hey JM.

Kids up here have another 2 weeks of summer vacation.

I was one of those strange kids that could have gone to school year round.

Summer vacation was mostly boring with too much time in front of the TV.

Time to burn steel, laterz.

I wish we would adopt the year-round schedule one of the schools in the county has.  Nine weeks on, two weeks off with and extra week at Christmas and an extra two in summer.  I could enjoy that schedule.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Mostly fixed.

That means it's a little bit broken.

That's the first time I've driven it in 12 years.
