So, I got my knee surgery on Monday, and I am finally off the prescription painkillers.  I am doing PT at home 3x daily and will be seeing a physical therapist 2x weekly  for the rest of the month.  I can totter around the apartment without crutches or knee brace, but I wear both when I leave the apt.  Our sick little doggie is settling down, so she's getting used to the anti-seizure drugs, although the nasty brain growth, that caused them in the  first place is still there.

In summary, knee surgery sucks and I hate it, and strong painkillers also suck, and I hate them.   [thumbsdown]

My mood will improve when I go back to work on Monday, I was so out-of-sorts, even computer games were no fun. Also I hate being dependent on other people so its hard for me stay positive, when I feel I should be contributing instead of being bedridden.  My wife, my father in law and my mom have been invaluably helpful to me and I am very grateful for their patience.

I find it amusing that you have to act on the rules of a thread with the stupid rule of writing something that no one can respond to. That's why I didn't post much in that, the concept is dumb.  [laugh]

Did you watch the vid Mary?

They seemed to infer that the average adult has a lot of oxygen in their blood.

I think the premise is that compression only CPR is more effective than CPR and pausing to perform mouth to mouth when performed by an untrained person whom they claim can't expand the lungs enough to be any help.

They do not recommend the method for children.

I dunno.

I did watch the video. I agree that compression only CPR is better then nothing. Better then poorly performed 30/2 compressions and breath. The reason they stress witnessed collapse is because of the 4 minutes. 10 minutes with no new oxygen and brain damage is certain. Children breathe faster then we do and burn through the O2 faster. so no compression only for them.

100 compression a minute for 2+ minutes is hard work for out of shape adults. 4 or 5 minutes  even with the breaths is painful to watch in class.

The real key is effective compressions. Fast, 100 a minute and deep enough. You hear and feel the cracking and you are there.

Walled in with wood when I frame the new roof
Also going to leave either a 3x3 door there or 3x3 removable panel so that later on the chute from a cement truck can fit in to pout a floor

I'd just frame it for a standard sized window and cover it until after the floor is poured.
