Close.  No water storage tank, it's a pressure tank so the pump doesn't short-cycle.  Basically a tank full of air with the pressure switch attached. When the air pressure gets below a set point the switch turns on water pump until the air pressure reaches the high set-point.

Its exactly the same as my water pump. Except that with ours the air-tank is integrated with the pump along with its pressure switch.  Inside my shed.  Not 300' under.

I dont lift water with an immersible pump in a well (we call 'em bores).  Ours is stored rainwater in above ground tanks.
