There are no Bears around my house. Ive been here about 4 years now and not once has my garbage been strewn out all over the street or bear poop been in evidence. No Raccoons either. Im not sure what to make of the no Raccoon situation.

I drive by the deer with controlled explosions under the hood all the time. It doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent.

The Coyotes don't come down to the house but I've been within 7 feet of one on the dog walk.
We have Marmots, Eagles, skunks, pelicans and Hawks and geese around here.

I keep thinking of having chickens in my backyard but we go out of town too often.

The bears usually go away once they get sight of you. Ill take you up on the Rabbits. Tuscany needs more Rabbits to chase.


Anyway this guy caught this big steelhead in a Northern California River.

mike and i have seen bear here several times
once walking in the woods adjacent to our patio, while we were outside.
another time we watched them open the trash can, take out a bag, and carry it to the patio, and then sit down on it's rear and opened it up like a lunch bag. they are bigger in person than they are on camera  

the bobcats we've seen 20 ft off the back of the house, walking across the large rock ledge. that was most definitely an awesome thing to see. we also have a fox den in the woods 75 ft from the patio.
