We got to have a private chat with Troy and a photo. What a legend. Down to earth country boy. We were at the Ducati stand when he just wanders up!

I have heard he can be rather surly....a good friend of mine who had one of his actual old BSB JHP #32 orange racebikes got a rather cold reception from Troy at Laguna about it a couple years ago and Troy had insinuated that John Hackett was a crook and the bike was more than likely a knockoff/fake of the many he ( JH ) had put out there, when the bike had actual provenance verified from Ducati Corse...

morning

off today, and I haven't a clue as to what I should be doing with myself.  I could wash the car, it's pretty gross...

meh

How about taking it to one of those $40 detail places. You can surf the web while they do the work and have a cleaned car. Or you can come help me do stuff around here. There is lots to do.

nah, I'm cheap like that... it doesn't take long, I'm just unmotivated (aside from a nagging feeling to be productive, which I am supposed to not feel on my days off).  besides, the sun's not even up yet.

that may be a bit too ambitious for me lol

NAKID

Hey guys, been a bit since I've wandered in here....

So, Has anyone had disk replacement surgery? Next friday I'm having 2 disks (C5-C6 and C6-C7) replaced. They are destroyed and have been causing pain in my neck and arms and numbness in my arms for years. They finally decided to do an MRI and it's pretty ugly.

I'm hoping this isn't going to end my days of riding...

Yeah, shots are a bandaid anyway. The disk replacement (especially the 2 level like I'm having) is relatively new. Fusion used to be the go to. Fusion would do just that, fuse the 2 vertebrae together, which would severely limit movement. The disk replacement is designed so that there is relatively little loss of range of motion.

If for some reason once the doc gets in there they can't do the replacement, they'll do a fusion. If that happens, I think my riding days are over or at least severely limited. i definitely won't be commuting like I do now...

Thanks, I'm hoping for the best. I'm sure after next friday I'll be spending a bit more time here while I sit at home and recover...

Not I, my Brother in law has had some fusion. It limits mobility for sure. Sorry to hear you have to deal with that.

Popeye the Sailor

My brother had two discs fused and I've seen no change in his range of motion.

Sits on the couch doing not a make the beast with two backsing thing just like he always did.  [thumbsdown]
