Not for this product. They have faqs for the more 'homeowner' targeted stuff. They do warn about air entrapment in the data sheet, and I thought I was safe. I didn't take into account the laps and that the product would be that hard to spread out. When you do spread it thin it gets really splotchy in it's appearance. They should just say to spray it.

I figured since I have a little experience with 2K products I could handle this stuff. I've been wrong before. When a bike job goes bad you're dealing with a few square feet.

This is 1200 sq feet gone bad. Kind of daunting.

Ya think?  Are you going over it with a floor specific product or just a regular urethane?

I'll be using some product designed for floors. Hopefully a product designed for commercial use. You usually get the best durability with those. It was the reason I chose what I did. edit...I'll be choosing a product designed specifically for roller or mop application.

Our family...and lifestyle...wouldn't be kind to just any urethane intended for trim and the like. The water based minwax stuff I put on the floors downstairs in the old house wore to bare wood in a few years.

I don't want to be doing floors every few years.

Bugger, such a PITA  :-\

No chance that you'll stop staring at it with critical eye and learn to love it as is?

Nope...I'm really not being all that critical. It looks like ass...

it would drive me nuts for the rest of my life...and not in a good way.

I'm already crazy...but in a good way. ;D

MendoDave

Well I have no positive suggestion for you Nate, other than to live with it like ung said or to strip it off and re apply it with air and tape everything off for the over spray.

Or you could just put some more Ram in your computer and make it faster.

Did I mention I have a new tire? Yes? I have a set of belts out there too, and a set of drop foot pegs that need to be installed.

And of course Coffee to be made, and I should say "Anything" and morning, and that should about cover it.

Except for the dog walk a little later.....

I just knew you'd understand. ;D

I can accept defects...nothing is 'perfect'. I've already stopped looking at the ceiling, and can accept the slight gaps in the poorly milled hardwood flooring. The floors in the old house had 1/4" gaps.

This really is bad.

I already tried one thing that made things worse. We've both been there and done that. ;)

It needs to be re-done.

I'm hoping I can sand the piss out of it and get down to the air entrapment without getting to bare concrete. The rest will just be sanded for adhesion. It is just a floor after all. ;D

Then I'll recoat the whole thing with a product designed for roller or mop applications. I'm having trouble finding a commercial/industrial urethane in satin that's designed to be applied that way.

I've done floors before and they've come out pretty good.

What grit do you sand that with?
