A frost heave is what happens when an anomaly in the road bed causes the pavement to either rise, or sink, DRASTICALLY.

You don't pick the fight as much as try to not bottom out your oil pan.

Frost heaves just tear up the roads in the spring when things start to thaw.

It was a tough winter for roads.

Closest we get to those frost heaves are road "tits". Maybe a foot or two in diameter, when repaired potholes rise like a cupcake sometimes over 6" or more. Got launched both wheels into the air at 75 once. Otherwise it's unrepaired potholes that could snap a fork leg or crack a rim and flip you into the scrub. Bad on the bike, but nothing like you get. Maybe Ung sees worse up his way.

There's a spot on a local road that heaves so bad it's like driving over a stone wall...and it does it every year. :P

We get lots of potholes and jumps on our roads . . . also lots of ripples and vibration . . .

The counties here don't do roads.

Town or state.

Doesn't really matter because they never fix them right...

unless it's the interstate and federal money is involved...

but we won't go there.
