Hey LMT.

Actually, some medicinal brandy could be of assistance for Nate's lurgy. My mum swears by strong alcohol to kill the germs and a good rub down with olive oil. Among her old village remedies, don't ever let her administer "hot gromithy" to an infected knee..

Ok, since you all asked, hot gromithy is half an onion hollowed out, filled with olive oil, herbs, garlic, etc then heated over an oven until the oil is boiling. Put the onion "cup" of boiling oil in a towel ready to apply. Then you catch the young kid, hold him down and slap the onion and it's boiling contents onto the kids infected knee, wrapping the towel around it. Continue to hold the kid down until he stops screaming or passes out. Remove the hot gromithy and note the large puss filled sore has disappeared.

Yep! Busy next week, but that is good :) Keeps me out of trouble.  I even volunteered to teach a 4 hour hands on training session tomorrow. My co-worker Joe was on the schedule to do it but I want the practice.

How about you? Get the new work car yet  [evil]

Brand spankin' new car parked in my driveway.

Evening all.  [wine]

Enjoying a glass of red with the Good Lady Wife.

Had a constant day today.

Dave. Found the fuel pump relay to be faulty at times, either cutting the fuel off or allowing the pump to max out and overcome the carb float valves. This later model VFR has the ignition relay and fuse under the seat and fuel regulator/cut off relay and fuel pump under the LHS rear sidecover. Running gravity feed at present and that works well if at the expense of a litre or two of fuel capacity. Will follow up on the electric components. All that after cleaning out the carbs, and giving the bike a thorough service.

Enjoy the lurgy Nate, one of the joys of parenthood. ;D

How are you Mr. Ungerdunger? (According to one of my kids).

Do yourself a favor and just replace the thing, then happy days will ge here again.
I was looking into it as well last night and most of them seem to have a relay. I guess thats essentially what the points are but the one I had came with a condenser and some open piints that could actually be sanded clean with emery cloth.

Just goes to show that theres more than one way to skin a cat.

koko64

Yep, just gonna get one and fit it. Running the bike on gravity feed for a shakedown run while I do other work on it. Seems to run fine at present.

How are ya'?
