hey George . . . our Swift wont consume any oil at all at 10000kms . . . and if my mind serves me well, my former Peugeot 405 Mi16 didn't consume any oil at the recommended intervals of 7500kms . . .

Well, my neighbor has a 2005 Corolla ... if by 5000kms we dont service it, it will go thru a liter in about 1000kms after the 5000kms . ..  ALL the Toyota diesels, will start consuming oil after 5000kms, at least here in Panama and from what I've heard in other Latinamerica countries . . .

My mum's was purchased new, made in Seth Effrika.  ;) All my vehicles are second-handies!
