Walked out of my apartment this morning and had this note under my door:

Dear Neighbor-
I would very much appreciate it if you would not turn your radiator(s) on and off as it has caused several leaks* to my apartment within the last 2 or 3 weeks -- forcing me to call the super to 'fix' the settings on your radiators.  Thank you very much - [name]

(* water dripping from my ceiling)

This from the woman that left me a note 3 weeks after I moved in asking that I get a thicker carpet because my footsteps were disturbing her.  As you know, it has been insanely cold in the NE, so the radiators (there are two) are necessary to heat the place.  But they are old binary systems---simply on or off---and when they've been on for awhile, the apartment gets really really hot.  So I usually turn one of them off.  This apparently is what's bothering her.

Sigh.  I appreciate that she is reaching out to me in a friendly manner, but she is basically telling me to not use my heating system properly because it is leaking on her.  Sounds like a building problem, not a tenant one.  Anyway, I needed to vent a little because I just know this is going to be an ongoing issue, at least until the weather warms up for good.   Sad

Tell her next time it's cold, she can either deal with the leaking radiator, or come up upstairs an snuggle.

People like options.

As this may escalate, I think I may just answer any knocks at my door naked for the next few weeks.  Nothing scares people like a naked guy comfortably going about his day.

Morning.  Two-hour delay for school today.  Calling for 5-8" of snow overnight.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I was going to complain about how the sleep rubbed from my eyes kind of hurts a little bit when I rub it out in the morning, but then I remembered my motorcycle, and the tough looking bug splattered Vanson leather jacket I own and decided to man up.

I just went through the RAT "best of" list and it was great.  I sadly joined DMF at the tail end of RAT's life and didn't get much of a chance to experience his humorous contributions.  Thanks for compiling, Ung.
