Only got one bike job tomorrow at noon. Gotta get another ride in.

So it has the 1.6 GK

It's an EB regardless of the engine size. The 2.0 is the pick if the gas engines for performance. I doubt US buyers get the 2.0 diesel option we get.

If it's not 2.0, it'll be a 1.5 or 1.6.

But not all US engines are ecoboost...they have a 2.5l dog standard in the S version. Less power than the 1.6

The 900 has a leaking tank and needs a clutch. If he got onto it , it would be ready. I goes fine, but he's in the process of parting it. I'm sure he feels burned and wants to say goodbye to it.
The Nugget is in bits. Be a long time before he's on the road.

It started several years ago. I believe it's the global market that has driven it.

Not only are they euro-centric, as you describe it, but they all look the same. The colors have dramatically changed in the last 10 years also. Ford used to offer all sorts of lively green and blue metallics and yellows. Now everything is silver and dk grey/black. I was really happy to find the red one on the lot.

There was a time when US vehicles were one thing...

European vehicles were something else entirely..

And Australian vehicles were our own unique blend of both.

But, as you say, globalisation has decreed that one size fits all    

I get the economic sense of that, but I can't help thinking we lost something.

I'd agree.

I really wish I could have bought a brand new 1971 Pinto instead...exploding gas tanked be damned. It was one of the best cars I ever had. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't fast. It got you from point A to point B for $1998 US and was problem free.

Times change...eh?
