Aha.....

I think our certification is still strict...
Organic produce is very expensive here. We buy mostly organic (and I grow as much as I can)....
I would love to convert back yard to fully sustain us..Grow enough of things to trade with like minded people...

Then I need one of Tesla's battery walls and go off grid.....

Tinfoil hats are in the mail to me also....

You really can't do a subsistence/sustenance scenario here. I really can't fathom how people lived here before trucking. They had to be tough make the beast with two backsers.

Yep with your climate, things you could grow and freeze in your outside freezer box, is about all....
Lots of tinned beans etc I guess....guy I know in Boise does that, tins and pickles lots.......
Without trucks, no fresh produce for a long time.......

I like Kale a lot...
Grow the Russian red variety...Not as big a fan of the curly kale....although curly kale chips in the oven are nice..

I can't say I'd want to do it.

In other news I'm impressed with my plasma cutter.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I use basil/rocket/silverbeet/parsley in my omelettes

We do have a lot of salads in summer usually, whenever we fire up the bbq.
Been strange fluctuating weather here, so had a few bbq's recently....
