'Ning.  Got my local coffee shop brew and a scone (usually breakfast for me) and am sitting down at work realizing that it's been 24 hours since I took a pain pill for my gout.  Perhaps, and just perhaps, the new med is working...  We shall see...

Got my official acceptance letter from Penn State yesterday.  They gave me credit for a much larger percentage of my 20+ year old college work than I though they would have.  [thumbsup]  I don't know how much further I have to go, but...  at least they recognized that at one point I went this far down the road.  8)

Been there last summer Stu, thankfully not as severe as your case.  Glad to hear you are feeling better.  For obvious reasons, no beer toast for you.

That's the one alcohol I absolutely can't drink. I guess it's the purines in beer that triggers it. I only need a couple of sips and I can't walk.

Luckily vodka doesn't bother me.

Yep, purines.  Probably means the better the bear the worse for us :(

If I can stay off the meds I can give up the beer I guess. If all alcohol becomes an issue I guess I'd consider meds.

Guess I need to find which alcohol works for me to keep the gout at bay...  Once things settle, I will begin experimentation (again).  [evil]
