actual balancers seem to just make up numbers half the time just to get off the job  [laugh]
I'll likely have to add some straight sections of duct to get better, more accurate, numbers. It 'seems' to be OK based on performance.

bends and restrictions within a few feet of where you read do mess things up
I hate for example where they put a VAV right after or before a bend, the flow reading jumps all over.

The manufacturer says 1.5' up and 3' down. I figure if I don't have those numbers, if they're close to the same amount wrong I'll be close. Here's a question for you...why can't you use the flow on the in and out to the outside?

Depending on what you're looking for you could, it's all relative to one another
In (fan suction side) to outside
Out (fan pressurization side) to outside
In (fan suction side) to interior of house
Out (fan pressurization side) to interior of house
Interior of house to outside

all relevant readings to have and combinations of them can give you plenty of info
Just using the fan values relative to the outside doesn't tell you what the house itself is doing, is it positive to the outside, negative to the outside, neutral?
Can always do the door test of course.
Does it want to open to the outside by itself then the house is positive.
It wants to shut, you're negative.
Can't open it? It's a trap.

My alarm when off at 5. Had people over for dinner last night and then 3 more stopped by for cake. I went to bed at 2230  [bang]  [coffee] [coffee] [coffee]

Of to a big Boeing supplier to teach all week. a 3 hour class, a break, and then a 2 hour class. Ends on Friday with the final class at 0100!

I don't really understand why the location of measurement doesn't tell you what is going on inside. I can see there would be issues with systems that were interconnected with hot air heating, or AC, but this system is isolated and fully dedicated. What comes in has to go out.

All residential doors are in swing to accommodate screen/storm doors.

That said...the door knob doesn't get ripped out of your hand. ;D

I'm likely pretty close.

I guess its time to get up. Can't sleep with all the discussion of Bernoulli's principle, heated pitot tubes, Boeing suppliers of those aforementioned tubes, and mentions of Cake.  :D

Besides someone is bound to come in here and say "Ning" in very large text any minute.

So, hit up Craigslist all week and then go moto-shopping on Friday afternoon!

Dimby bonfire?

I'm thinking those pieces are a wee bit big to satisfy the fire chief.

That said...it's quite a 'pile'. I'm impressed.
