It was big, so I was thinking fisher.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

You might be right. They look very similar. A fisher is between 4-13 lbs depending on sex, and up to 4 feet long, including tail. A mink, or weasel, is smaller.

I would guess it was over ten-it would've dwarfed the cat here.

I should go measure a paw print if I can find one in the snow.

5 toes about 2 1/4". Track pattern is more side by side rather than one in front of the other.

From what I've heard, they are about as friendly and useful as a house cat.  ;)

I'll set my gopro to record the joyous occasion, never before has anyone seen a fisher weep. Tears of joy just because someone gives it love and understanding.

that too, everyone eats well here.
By day 2 it will be part of the line up with the dogs watching my wife prepare food.

The only face to face contact I ever had with a fisher involved clubbing him/her with my fishing rod.

I guess it decided I wasn't going down easy.

We see them occaisionally near the brook in winter looking for open water.
