Summers are nice out there, right?  Isn't it on a weekend this year?
It's always July 4th.

We have a bunch of seasons.

Mud season, black fly season...which runs concurrently with construction season...July 4th, construction season, leaf peeping season, and winter.

Speaking of Black Fly season, how's the new shotgun?
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I like it.

Having a little issue with the upper barrel. About 25% of the time the trigger, which is an inertia design, doesn't reset. I need to take the stock off and check to make sure there isn't some old dried up oil slowing down the inertia block, but it could also be an issue with the light target loads, hold to the shoulder (multiple layers of clothes), or a phenomenon called 'trapping' the trigger. It seems to be a somewhat common problem with inertia triggers. It always fires if I slap the butt plate with the palm of my hand, so I'm thinking it's nothing serious.

Shotgunning is pretty new to me, but I'll either figure it out, or send it down the road and get something else.

A good cleaning fixes most firing problems in good guns.

Good morning  [bang]

Or you could choose to believe Staten Island Chuck.

Why the head banging my friend?

Looking out my window...I think Phat Phil might be on to something this year. :-\

The gun is likely over 50 years old, and has seen very little use. It could also be still wearing in.

It's not like I'm competing in national competitions, and the first barrel fires every time, so for trap singles, which is what I shoot most of the time, it's fine.

Clay targets flying in every direction are very different than paper stapled to a backer. I like it.

MendoDave

Off to Reno today. No shotguns today. Mary got sick so no breakfast for me. Maybe a slice 🍕 from the other night.

Just trying to recover.

Then I'll get back to raising funds-I need a regulator and such.

A shame I had to leave my whole setup with the old house, but it got me out of there.

I know the house you left was far south of the Oroville clustermake the beast with two backs...

but wouldn't it be ironic that you left because of a drought...worse than brown spots...

and the property was toasted by a flood?  [bang]
