Depends if I headed south, or west. I'd still be in NY if west. South would put me in PA, or maybe VA.

From home, the only state I can cross in less than 8 hours is NM. I can get into other states, but they are too big to get across in that time.

Some of you on the east coast could drive through 3, 4, 5, or 6 states in 8 hours! Not out here.

I could head out northeast from LA, cross the southern tip of NV, the northwest corner of AZ, and be in UT with time to spare.

In my USN days I would travel from San Diego to Dallas and back again.  I made this trip many times.  The road time between Dallas and El Paso was always about 12 hours.

I could touch CA and NV within 8 hours, but I wouldn't call it crossing.

If I were on a good bike and pushed it, I could get from Los Angeles to Eureka, California in 8 hours.  I think.

I'll give you 8.5 hours from Hwy 14 to the Eureka city limit.

Going to drive over to the Tesla Giga factory and see what can be seen.

Lessee from here I could be in Rhode Island in 30 mins, then in CT about 15 after that, into NY mebbe another hour and a half-think I could make Jersey or Baltimore or some such.

I could cheat and head North and start in New Hampster.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
