If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

If you ever think, "Amarillo, TX would be a great place to spend the night", think again.

Nothing horrible about the sleepy little place.  It actually has a ton of potential along the main drag where it seems like they are trying to revitalize the area.

As many of you know, driving through Texas takes a long time.  On the upside, they have really high speed limits (75mph) on rough two lane "highways".

But I digress.

I've landed in Plano for the time being.  It is odd being in an apartment again after 16 years or so.  At least it is a pretty nice place and there are quite a few restaurants/shops within walking distance.  It is also close to the office, and I'm kinda thinking a short commute (in Denver it was at least 35 minutes to go 16ish miles) and no regular business travel might be a good thing!

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Morning.

Nice to hear, Randy. I've been through Amarillo at night. Just kept on going, but the few cross country trips I've had-we didn't stop for anything except fuel.

Amarillo is a fine place to refuel.  That is about it.

Even at that, still a better place than Laredo!

I'll take anywhere in Texas over Oklahoma.

Along 287 between Amarillo & Fort Worth, there are quite a few "towns" that look like they are only good for refueling.  Kinda eerie.
