Been doing a lot of hiking & camping, some fishing (not much success with that) remodeling our building, landscaping, & some other stuff.

Same building. Its now a Duplex. I haven't caught a fish with a pole since I was 12. I think its a time waster.

The catching makes me have to put my drink down.



In other news my boiler broke. No heat in the house.

There are worse times for it to happen.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

What Went Wrong?

It decided to make more carbon monoxide than heat. Just old and inefficient-over forty years old-tested at about 80% efficiency.

Working on getting a new one-the new one combines water heater and the house heat and runs closer to 97%. I asked them to oversize it so when I expand the shop I can put PEX in the floor and have a heated slab.

Also getting a bunch of insulation work done. Windows next year. Mass has a nice reimbursement for windows, but only if you use a contractor.



Or what went wrong was us getting away from Wide Whitewall tires. Things were better then. There might be a correlation.

Gas, and Buderus was bought by Bosch, which is what we're going with.

Only boiler available through the state rebate program that is large enough to heat this house.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
