Internet is back up, and the generator is running. Over half of the utility's customers are without power. This could take days.

Only problem is the generator isn't quite enough to run our electric oven. It does run the well pump, and all the 120V stuff in the house, so we're far from suffering.

The poor thing is probably 35 years old. It only puts out 20 amps on the 240 circuit. Time to shop for a newer, higher output unit, I guess.

Looks just like this...

...and as fate would have it...power on.

If you didn't have the generator, power would be out longer.

Ever since I installed mine...power is never out more than a short while and even then rarely

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Yup...

I got this generator from my brother in early 90's. He had used it in a storm for quite a while in Mass as I recall. I used it in an ice storm that hit here in '98 for several days. I used it many times after for short periods. The connection to the house was...interesting'...I almost fried it. the generator, a couple of times, and actually had flames shooting out of a computer, due to the connection.. It sits a lot. It always runs. I use stabilizer, and have always run it out of fuel when I'm done with it. The rubber isolators are rotting and my old barn is not kind to equipment as far as corrosion, and 'barn fresh', are concerned.

I had a disappear for a bit. Some idiot spilled their drink on my laptop.

Paula was impressed.

It was water, so I suppose I didn't either.

My brother passed the msf yesterday. In the rain. I was surprised.

I never took it.

On the other hand, I've never passed a stone.

I'm surprised. ;D

I'm sorry...not. [laugh]

All my friends are getting a squatty potty for Christmas!

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I'm afraid to Google that.

Time for night night's. Up half the night listening to the wind howl, and lugging generators around all morning.

Manyana...
