Best wishes Nate . . .

Ditto.

Now home and settled in for the traditional watching of The Longest Day.  Late start this year.  Might not make it all the way through.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Sorry to hear you got rerouted to another shitty hotel.

Best of luck!
The last one was a 5 star shitty hotel compared to this one.

Ugh.  I sure hope it's a short stay as you and T and Z, no doubt, do.

It depends on what they do in addition to the Cath. If they just look and no stents, I might go home today. If they put in a stent, it will be tomorrow. If it's really bad, I may have to schedule something for later.

Not going to worry at this point.

Take it easy Nate . . .  It'll all be good, just a reminder we also need to go to the mechanic from time to time . . .

make the beast with two backs those make the beast with two backsing make the beast with two backss! Medicine is about billing. I'm not talking about the providers...the doctors and nurses...the people doing the work. They are caring, loving people that work hard at a very difficult job. I'm talking about the financial end of it.

They didn't find anything in any test, other than my Pulse ox dropped, at the heart rate they needed, which was 150 bpm for over a minute, when I did the stress test...I do smoke. I've gotten to 150 bpm once in the last 30 years, and that was yesterday. My heart is fine, with normal function, and no blockages in my arteries. The chest pain was likely a spasm due to reflux. The doc at the first facility was  just being sure to cover his ass.

This 2 1/2 day fiasco proves is I can't afford modern medicine, and I'm pretty healthy. I'll likely be on the hook for big money despite having coverage.

I'm pretty pissed off because I specifically asked if it would be fully covered, and because the make the beast with two backsing geniuses were convinced I had a blockage, and would be in second facility for longer which would have changed the way the insurance paid, and they said yes. >:(

I'm happy to see there's nothing more serious (it really was nice popping onto this site and seeing your name as the "last post").

But I'm so very sorry about the billing cluster you'll be dealing with and hopefully can "negotiate".

Most important is you are well Nate!

When I had my incident a few years ago, three days in the overpriced hotel.   Unable to breath, ridiculous blood pressure and heart attack enzymes released.  The nuclear stress test was done by a local cardiologist in his office at my (well, sort of) convenience.

Financially I was fortunate.  Between Medicare and my healthcare coverage as a City University retiree my out of pocket expense was $0.00  First, worry about getting back to feeling good.  Money can wait for later.  At that point if your out of pocket are high they may be willing to make a deal.  Often they do.

That's the thing howie. No enzymes were released. I could breathe fine. The only symptoms, besides the pain which was very short lived, were high blood pressure and low heart rate. I tend to run a little slow anyway, and my blood pressure returned to normal shortly also.

They did all these tests mostly due to family history. I think modern medicine neglects to take into account some pertinent info when they consider family history, mainly huge differences in lifestyle. I also think they have their heads up their asses wrt diet. They're still selling low fat/low sodium. Low sodium is fine. I don't add salt to anything but sweet corn, but this low fat thing is ludicrous. This is what brought us HFCS, now crystallized fructose [to confuse the consumer],and obesity.

I'll stop ranting, yelling at people to get off my lawn, and jousting windmills in a few days. I'll appeal the billing because my total stay , as the facility I went to originally doesn't have a cardiac unit, does meet the requirements for inpatient.

I'm much less cranky today. I actually got a decent nights sleep last night.

There's no place like home. [thumbsup]
