If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

So January 4th is my last day on a Federal contract I have worked on since 2012. Been through 4 companies, 1 recompete, 7 different re-orgs during that time.
Sort of bitter-sweet since this contract has done more for my career than any other job in my life.

But I saw the writing on the wall in July when they did a big reduction of force (and actually as far back as 2015 when instead of recompeting the contract as a 10 year (5 years + option for 5 years), they rebid it out as a 1+ options. So we are on option year 5 but even more suspect is this is the first time they ever went into semi-year options.

We will be fine. I have always planned well for these kind of things and I already have a long list of recruiters, head hunters and contacts getting their ears to the tracks for me. So I will probably take a week or two off in January and then get back to the grind...unless, of course, I win the lottery tonight.

So how is everyone else's week going?

Quiet here.  Working from home doing CAD stuff for two different electrical based companies.  Sold the S4Rs.  Still have the Bobber for now.  Staying safe and such...

Seemingly good kid, and a seemingly nice guy.

Only the good die young...eh?

Isn't LMT technically still a teenager?
