I had 4 molars pulled in my early 20s; not too much fun; I remember the surgeon put stiches then packed some gauze in to stem the bleeding, they had me right under and frozen, was fairly sore for a couple of weeks;

good thing is gums tend to heal fairly fast compared to other incision's on epidermal layers. I remember having lots of cool soup and blended drinks and swishing gently with salt water, brush very gently, with a mouth wash swishing again. Unfortunately seems to give the worst halitosis of my life for a week or 2.
