Local support.

Lots of the guys are switching to the Dunlop slicks.

They claim that while the tires move around more they do so predictably as opposed to the Michelin wow these tires are amazing...crash.

I don't think I want to run slicks because you're supposed to run warmers and that just won't work for me at NHMS.

I was thinking D209s or the current DOT tire when it's time.

How many heat cycles can you put DOT race tires through before they turn to wood?

On another note, how are things at the Center Harbor Cycle Shop?

I've never had a bike that would actually care.

I used to get close to a season of track days on a set of tires with no apparent heat cycle issue.

So....50 cycles maybe. They aren't complete cycles either...not completely cool.

OK... :-\

Well, my toe wasn't broken, but severely dislocated.  It was very noticably crooked, and ached & wasn't blue.  I iced it good Friday night and had my fiancée hold my ankle & pull it straight.  Felt the same pop as when I hit the rock, but my toe is straight now.  Stiff and sore still, but getting more flexible as I walk & use it more ~

I had that happen to a pinky a couple of years ago.

Looked like a bratwurst for a couple of days, and then it started getting better.

Also, morning all.  [coffee]

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Broken toes suck....no way to immobilize them.

Same goes for my tired old back. >:(

I was quite glad it was only dislocated.  The pinky toe & the next on over (the one that was dislocated) are nice colors today after being crammed in shoes all day yesterday ~

Holy crap, weddings are tiring.  I'm glad I don't plan on doing that again any time soon.

It was an awesome time.  Picts will posted in a couple weeks.

Ning all, congrats DD!

We're up at Lake Tahoe for a couple of days, rode up yesterday.

Trying to teach Dave how to relax and enjoy a vacation, he's not very good at taking it easy (neither am I). ;)

I'm hoping more than that.

I have no idea how long/how many heat cycles the old tires had on them.

The profile front I'm using is only available in a soft so that might be a 3-4 day tire.

I got a medium rear for longevity.

The front is the same price as the rear...friggen Michelin.

When these wear out I'm going to try the dark side. (Dunlops)

Which Micheline's are you running?

I've been using Power Races and they are hands down the most awesome tire Ive been on yet.  I got them used from a WERA guy with 20 laps on them.  Ive had this stack for a couple years now, and I still use them.  They still stick like glue.  Ive gone as far as wearing off the grooves on the one side down to the wear bars.  Then I wore off the wearbars ;D  They still stick, even with no tread and they're old.

I can only imagine what a new set would do.

Front's seem to last forever.  Then again, ive never been too hard on fronts.  My habit with fronts has been 2 or 3 trackdays, and then 3-4000 miles on the street.

Power race = best tire ever

Here's what my toes look like after the off-road incident.  The pinky was bruised from the very very forceful disolcation of the toe to it's right.  Glad I had sturdy boots on, otherwise I might not have been so lucky and be missing part of that toe.
