Lawmakers want CEO's to give up bonuses

You had to bring this up.  [evil]

Now, without the massive tax revenue from these people, how is the welfare system going to be funded?!!!

Think of those less fortunate that don't want to work!!! What will they do?!!!
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

i come in early to dig out of the pile of work,
and he sits on my friggin' lap askin' stupid questions, which he doesn't even need to know the answers to...
it's a waste of time.

he's clueless, and refuses to do HIS job, be the boss.
i wouldn't be behind schedule if he did HIS job.

Bosses like that are no fun.  In 5 years, 1, and only 1 boss has realized that I have knowledge in my head that is helpful.  I know that you mean ~

OOOOOHHHHHH, I had a boss like that.  He never shut up, I never got any work done because he was always talking to me about nothing, he hit on me daily, and the man actually pat me on my ass in front of a client, at which time I told him he'd lose said hand if he ever tried it again.

Seriously, you should make an appointment with him and calmly explain that you have things to do and that sitting on your lap is completely inappropriate.  If that doesn't work, sit down with HR and fill them in.  You shouldn't have to put up with that crap, honestly.

I think there is a balance to be struck.  Managing a multi-billion $ firm cannot possibly be an easy task, and yes, those people should be paid WELL for what they do.  I don't begruge anyone being wealthy that's earned it.  But when you run into situations like this where it appears books are being cooked, company big wigs are actually stealing money, making the stock tank, costing the average middle class American their nest egg, and paying themselves bonuses on top of it (i.e.: Enron, MCI Worldcom, etc.), I have to say there is something wrong there.

Oh and most of these guys are smart enough to hide the majority of their assets off shore to avoid taxation.

Ok.  Off my soap box.

Afternoon all, had a nice bike ride this morning. ;D

Got the VPN on my laptop fixed, finished setting up the second work computer with a KVM switch so I can easily do data analysis somewhere other than my laptop.  I also picked up a printer and a scanner last weekend, my home office is finally just about done. [thumbsup]

I'm going to assume you were using the term 'sit on your lap' figuratively.  If he was really, actually sitting on your lap,  a cup of hot coffee in his seems appropriate.
