I have a different issue I've been dealing with, relating to getting my name off of a shared car lease with an ex-boyfriend, which will affect our loan application. :P

I'd love to get opinions on it but don't really want to post the details publicly.

Well, with less details:

The lease was originally in my name, then I transferred it to both of us (cost me ~$500 transfer fee).

I didn't get any benefit from it, but he saved about $3000.

At the time we agreed it would be for a year.

Now he doesn't want to transfer it from both of us to just him as he doesn't want to pay the $500 (he doesn't get any additional benefit).

Only way I can get him to agree to go through with the paperwork (process takes a couple of weeks) is if I pay for it up front.  I told him I expect to be reimbursed but he won't commit to that (of course).

I do have an ace in the hole, a way to get myself reimbursed afterward from his account without him knowing beforehand (nothing illegal).

Should I do it?  Oh, and he works for my company although I never see him.  Is it worth it?

And I know I was way too nice to him already...learned my lesson. :-\

Spiders are fun but don't have very good senses of humor.

Thanks guys, that was my feeling too.

And it's a good ace, but I can only play it once, just want to get it right. 8)

you already paid for it once. it's his turn to pony up.

play your ace. if he approaches you aggressively at work then he gets to go see HR.
if he tries to get the money back, make sure everything is documented so you are safe.
