maybe you need one of these.

Made of hard plastic, the Banana Guard features a nifty snap lock so your banana won't fall out and mingle with the rest of your belongings. It's even equipped with ventilation holes. Sure, you might get a laugh or two when you pull this thing out of your .....

I so want one of these.  I eat a banana every day.  When I travel my daily intake ends up banged up and smooshed.

Statler

Slightly cracked fuel supply hose to the pump maybe?!?  Had that happen on an older Mercury years ago.  Hose looked fine from the outside, but once removed and bent in any different curve, it displayed a LOT of cracks then...  The cracks were sucking air in as the pump tried to prime itself but oddly...the hose never leaked.

Popeye the Sailor

Metal hose, no leaks, yes, fuel in tank. I suspect the pump but.....only because things point to it.

This could be a vacuum issue, as most everything on the jeep works off the vacuum pump.
