That's right.

I don't disagree, but take a bike that's 375 now, then add a 900 and a 5.5 rear which we'll say is now 400. . .

Ti frame saves 30 we'll guess, 10 for wheels, 10 for the tank. .

that gets me to 350.

Replace every nut and bolt on the bike with a Ti fastener saves maybe 5 more pounds bringing me to 345. . .

what else is there?

Helium in the tires?

Ohh, I guess a Ti swing arm.  Forgot about that.

No clue what the stock alum one weighs in at.

Oh, I guess Ti bars in the clipons as well.

That's ounces though, but it all helps

And carbon tail and fairing...

I know you don't have the money, but the wheels would make a huge difference all over.

The swing arm is harder to build than a frame or so I'm told.

I think I have Titanium-itis.

It's an actual disease.

I'd never tell.

This going to be a track bike?

Carbon tail and fairing sort of go without saying.

Yeah, wheels would be the shizzle.  They made Chris's RS feel like a bicycle  [moto]

Made a believer out of me.

The overall problem though, is let's say I get the cf wheels.  Then I have 7500 bucks into a 900ss 2v air cooled bike.  Is that worth it?

Right now Id say no, I have better things to do with $5500 (7500 less what ive got into the bike now)

But after riding the thing. . .

not so sure  [evil]

It already is a trackbike.

It's just going to evolve into something more  [evil]

You're thinking WAY too small.

Let me put it this way. You're going to build a frame, swingarm, and tank.

Why rebuild an existing bike? Go all the way. Build it from scratch  ;D

Statler

just so you have an idea...last time I weighed mine it was about 395 full of gas.   Not a friendly bicycle.   [moto]   I'd love to ride a bike that was 350 or under   ;D

Not much more coming off the rider at this point.

It's still buy a flounder a drink month

Monsterlover

I could build one from scratch. . . I think.

I just haven't before.

Id like to try and copy this one, and get at least close to being right [laugh]

Ill branch out from here

Im just sayin' ;D

The RS was easier to turn than the 675, but actual bars make a difference there.

Leverage and all.

Not much more coming off this rider either.  I think a 350# SS would be pretty fun.

I need to weigh the 996 when I get the wheels on it.

There's a reason those bikes make a shit load of power ;D
