i think they open at 4am, it's thursday here
where will you be spending your vacation stateside?
are you doing your training in the states too?
you must be psyched!
what's the first thing your going to do when you get here?
Thanks for the help. Called them last night and sorted everything out. Don't like using them. But, they locked down my account when I suddenly made a purchase 5000 miles from my home of record. And, I had no way to call them and clear it until yesterday.
For someone who's looking for glasses/contacts; try framesdirect.com. I'm trying to deal with them to get some Rx ballistic goggles for my African Adventure.
Tini, I will be in the SF area for a couple weeks. Then, the East Coast around DC for a week (hopefully) followed by a few weeks of training in S. Carolina. While around SF, I'll be doing a Geist night and catching up with some old friends. Ol' girl out here might come out for a week (she's never been to the US - only some vacation time in Saipan).
Honestly, I don't know the first thing I'm going to do. It'll be 26+ months since I've been stateside (except Guam and Saipan).
Now, to the bad news; I got an IZ on my rear tire. Found it this morning when I was getting on my bike to ride to work. I heard a "pop" on the way home last night while going through a tunnel near my house - I didn't think it was me. This morning, I go outside and find a flat. So, I change and walk to work. Get to the gate and realize my military ID is in my moto gear. Taxi ride back home and back to the gate ($20 later for a 5 min drive) and I go to work for the day. I get home and I go to inspect my bike. I've got a dime size chip out of the CF rear fender (likely from a rock I rode over yesterday in a construction zone - likely the cause of my massive flat). I don't really care much bout the fender. It came with the bike. But, the inconvenience of getting it taken care of. I've got to find a tow service (in Japanese), get them to my house (in Japanese), get the bike to a still-yet-to-be-determined shop and hope they have a tire (in Japanese), and then arrange pickup (in Japanese). All this is rushed as I have a moto class on Thursday that's mandatory and very difficult to schedule.
So, naturally, I'm heavily drinking tonight (that plus a terrible day at work).
On a lighter note, I just found out a friend (acquaintance?) from HS is some Top Chef contestant thingie for some TV show. I guess he's a chef somewhere in NY (anyone heard of "Trestle on Tenth?")
Ohh yeah - I've been drinking (one of those days) - And, if this was me 3 years ago, every "modify" would be it's own post. I miss my 10K posts...
