so how's this?

another mechanic wanders into my area, and is all: "oh, you're working today?"
me: "ummm... yeah."
him: "boss is buying everyone lunch today, go see him to tell him what you want."

...walk to boss' box on the other end of shop...

boss: "you want something?"
me: "yeah, lem said to come see you about lunch?"
boss: "you need lunch?"
me: "I didn't bring any"
boss: "well, you're too late.  I already phoned it in. I got you soup."

it's july. it's hot. humidity has been worse than normal and we're all already sweaty and gross.

WHY THE make the beast with two backs WOULD I WANT A BOWL OF SOUP?Huh???

no night shift came in to follow me, which is why he *made* me work both days this weekend  Roll Eyes it's the only way this job would get out to the project before next week

but at least the money is good, and will go to something worthwhile, so I guess it's not so bad
