Are you done with your DIMBY planning, so it's safe for the rest of us to come back?

You could always butt in....

Quick update on Brian (yes, Ni, that is our dog).

He's been at the vet all day waiting for surgery.

We got a call late this afternoon that he was headed in for his procedure (the clinic only does surgeries on Wednesdays and Fridays and they are busy, and it's a full moon tonight).

All along, the plan was for the orthopedic surgeon to scope his knees prior to the planned procedure, which entailed pulling the patella tendon down and pinning to the shin bone to relocate the patella lower and closer to where it should be.

During the scope, it was determined that the lower insertion point of the patella tendon was not in the front center of the shin bone where it should be, but off to the side (I believe inside) of the shin bone.

As such, the planned procedure would not do much good.

He'll still require surgery.  The new surgery will be a bit more invasive as it will relocate the insertion point of the patella tendon closer to where it should be.  Upside is that the surgery will take place in a few months when he is fully grown and that we'll not have to deal with a recovering 10-month old Boxer puppy for the next 6-12 weeks.  Downside is that he'll still require surgery and we'll have to deal with a young Boxer in recovery for 6-12 weeks at that time.

Thanks from both Stella and I to everyone for their well wishes!
