I was having a great day off and then it all went to hell.  My department said it was OK to raise funds and have friends and family donate to the red cross and specify for my ER class equipment fund.  I posted a note of facebook and people called to give.  No luck.  HQ changed the rules.

My department does not get $$ from chapter wide donations.  All donated $$ to our chapter goes to disaster.  We turned away over $600 today.  I am pissed.  I need 4 new 02 regulators and my dept. has no $, my friends and family offered to help, and were turned away.  I was chastised by the higher ups and given platitudes by my boss.

[drink] time for me.

Where can said regs be purchased?

I like the way you're thinking.

I swear, Mother Nature (evil pregnant dog) hates me!

Working in SW South Dakota through the end of the month.  Typical temps are supposed to be in the low to mid 60's this time of the year.  Have not had a day over 35 in the last week!  Temps are finally coming up Thursday, but of course, we are heading home for the weekend.  Forecast for next week... 30's to 40's.

Where is this global warming we were promised?

Thanks for the support.  It was a crappy day.

I have a closet full of broken down equipment.  For our airway adjuncts I drilled the nostrils out on an old Anne head.  I slit the back of the mouth to get the proper sized OPA in there.  The people teaching before me got pissed when replaced and stole a lot of stuff.  I have been buying stuff every quarter for class.  I don't mind, but when we turn away cash, it sucks.

My department is funded by sales of CPR classes and supplies sold like first aid kits.  We manage to break even.  Funding for equipment is just not there.

I will make due with what we have for a bit longer.

We are having a seminar on how accept gifts in kind.  There must be some laborious process for that too.

Everyone needs first aid kits.... how much, and how many can one order?

DMF group buy on first aid kits maybe (no group buy discount necessary!)

How about if your department was "given" the needed regulators? (funds raised by outside group, regulators purchased then donated)

Yes, everyone does need ;) a first aid kit.  Where can I buy one.

What would happen if a bunch of people signed up and paid for these classes but just didn't show up?
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
